Right of Withdrawal — EU Consumer Notice

Under EU Directive 2011/83/EU on Consumer Rights, consumers normally have a 14-day right to withdraw from distance contracts without giving a reason. However, Art. 16(a) of that Directive provides that the right of withdrawal is lost for service contracts once the service has been fully performed, provided the consumer gave prior express consent and acknowledged the loss of the withdrawal right.

By completing a booking on Mentorship.world you expressly consent to the immediate arrangement and confirmation of your session, and you acknowledge that once the session has taken place you lose the right of withdrawal in respect of that completed session.

For sessions that have not yet taken place, you may cancel at any time subject to the refund tiers below. These tiers apply in place of the standard 14-day withdrawal right, and in all cases provide at least equivalent protection for cancellations made well in advance.

How to cancel

To cancel a session, go to your Mentee Dashboard and click "Cancel session" on the relevant booking. Cancellations are processed immediately. The refund window is calculated from the moment of cancellation to the scheduled session start time (UTC).

Refund processing

Approved refunds are returned to your original payment method via Stripe. Processing time is typically 5–10 business days depending on your card issuer, in accordance with Stripe's standard refund timelines. You will receive an email confirmation when the refund is initiated.

Mentor no-shows

If a mentor does not attend a confirmed session, you are entitled to a full refund regardless of timing. Contact us at info@mentorship.world within 24 hours of the missed session with your booking reference. We will process the refund within 5 business days of verification.

Mentor cancellations

If a mentor cancels a confirmed session, you are entitled to a full refund regardless of how close to the session the cancellation occurs. We will process the refund within 5 business days of the cancellation notification. You will receive an email confirmation when the refund is initiated.

Rescheduling

There is no automated rescheduling tool in the current version. If you need to reschedule, contact the mentor directly and agree on a new time. You may then cancel the original booking (subject to the refund window above) and book the new slot separately.

Defective or non-conforming service

If a session was not delivered with reasonable care and skill, or was materially different from what was described, you may be entitled to a remedy under applicable EU and Spanish consumer law (TRLGDCU). Please contact info@mentorship.world within 30 days of the session with a description of the issue. We will review and respond within 5 business days.

Disputes and ADR

If you are not satisfied with our resolution, you may refer the matter to an Alternative Dispute Resolution body or use the EU Online Dispute Resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.
